Ananta
The Shravan Collection — An intimate theatrical collection on the many dimensions of Lord Shiva, staged during the sacred month of Shravan.
About the production
The Shravan Collection
Derived from the Sanskrit word Ananta, meaning eternal or infinite, the production reflects the boundless nature of Shiva through choreographed works drawn from Hindu mythology, devotional tradition and Indian performing arts. Each piece represents a different aspect of his character and teachings — creation, destruction, devotion, meditation, transformation, and the eternal cycle of life. Classical Indian dance, Bollywood, contemporary movement and theatrical storytelling work together with music, lighting and visual design to guide the audience through Shiva's many dimensions, while holding respect for the cultural and spiritual traditions behind the work. Staged on a smaller scale than our full-length theatre productions, Ananta is designed for closeness — greater focus on the emotion, symbolism and narrative inside each piece.
